The New Children’s Museum is celebrating its first year with a fundraiser and community celebration!
The NCM's 1st Anniversary Family Fundraiser will be held
on Sunday, May 3, 2009 from 4:30-7:30. Guest will get in touch with their inner child with customized studio activities, specially designed performances and unique menu items. Don’t miss the 1st Anniversary Community Celebration on Sunday, May 10! This free event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include tours, giveaways, hands-on art projects and fun for the whole family! Catch performances from the School Steel Drum Band, San Diego Youth Symphony, Oak Park Percussion Group and The Paul Green School of Rock Music Band. Magnificent Chinese Boxes of the Past
Visit the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum and discover a collection of finely crafted boxes from the Qing dynasty. “Magnificent Chinese Boxes of the Past” opens March 28th and features boxes masterfully made from different materials such as leather, carved wood, lacquer and bamboo. The San Diego Chinese Historical Museum is located at 404 Third Avenue. Admission is $2 and free for members and children under 12.
