The festival is dedicated to South African native, Miriam Makeba, otherwise known as Mama Africa, who devoted her life to music and civil rights activism. Featuring great music and remarkable dancing, the goal of this event is to unite all community members, from dancers, musicians, and artists to students, teachers, immigrants, and refugees, in sharing their culture. This festival will aim to increase awareness about the importance of dance and music among the government, systems of education and the general public.
